I'm Addicted

Yesterday was the beginning of the Fulmar KAL. To be totally honest...I wasn't sure I was ready. Love the yarn, Love the look of the cables...gosh, Alice Starmore is one of the top knit designers out there.

I guess my fear had to do with this summers Mystery Stole KAL that I was all excited to be apart of. Within two weeks I had gone from Love-It to Burn-It!!! Lace is very unforgiving and I had this overwhelming feeling that knitting 196 stitches on size 2's would put me in the Hate-It category. Not so much. I cast-on all 196 stitches and double checked the count and was super happy to see that I had counted correctly. I'm only on row 5 of the pattern right now. I get about half way through a row and the pattern just comes naturally into place.

I can read my stitches...which amazes me every time I do it. I even got into the zone this morning...the train conductor had to announce that all passengers had to exit the train. I look up to see that I was the only one on board. WHAT? I fell into a knitting vortex. Gotta be careful where and when I do that, hehehe. I know this project will take a looooooong time to complete, but at least I know I wont hate it.

Here is a picture of my 5 little rows...

So what if it's only 5 rows...damn it, those 5 rows mean something to me.

I'm into my second repeat of the pattern chart. Rows 3 and 7 are the slow rows. Once you get past 7, you'll feel like you're flying all of a sudden.

I think maybe there's a chance we can knit this sweater. :D
