Blogiversary 6.0
Can you believe I completely forgot to celebrate my blogiversary? I correlates along with my own birthday... and I'll tell you what. I never forget to celebrate that one!
So in celebration of blogging for 6 years, I'm running a little contest. I'm going to gift the random winner my newest ebook: Woobie Pattern Collection Series 2. You have until midnight September 25th to reply to this thread. All you have to do is tell me how you celebrate a birthday in style!
I'm pretty simple. I like to eat out, go to the show and possible hang with my knitting friends for the day. This past weekend I did all those. I even made cheese cake. Not just any cheese cake, but New York Style with cherries. Oh, it's so good and there is so much of it that it last all weekend.
Friday was my birthday and if my day-job wasn't on super-killer-stress-toxic-level-breakdown-mode then I would have taken the day off. After work we headed to Asian Harbor in Homewood. They serve all the classics but we wanted to partake in sushi. With tummies filled we had our son drive out to the grandparents house to drop Miss Mac for the weekend. The boy is getting better at driving, but still so much more to learn.
Saturday then was filled with fiber and friends. What a blast we had. Couldn't have asked for a better time. Thank you ladies for making my day special! We headed out to Morris IL where there is a yarn store called Le Mouton Rouge, which basically means Red Sheep. Just the most adorable shop. Owner is fantastic and the selection is extensive.
We then had a lovely lunch at Letty Mae's Tea Room... people, there was strawberry soup. Oh Yeah Baby! After that I came home and crashed. I love getting nap attached;)
So how do you like to spend you special day?

Blogiversary 5.0
I was sitting back thinking that WOW time is really going by fast. It then hit me that it was my Blogiversary... September 12, 2006 was the first day of many. How things have changed and How excited I am for the next 5 years.
I do wish I had more content...and most days I'm just wishing for an extra hour of sleep. Working full time and designing part-time can take a toll on the knitting content here on the blog. I just hope you stick around because there are things in the works that I'm excited to see taking place and I can't wait to share them with you.
In celebration of my Blogiversary, I'll gift One Woobie Pattern to a lucky winner who leaves a comment on this blog post. Winners will be chosen by the random number generator at midnight September 15th. If your on Ravelry, then leave your Rav Name and if not then your email addy will work too.

Blogiversary 3.0

Time is a funny thing. At one moment your watching the clock wondering when it will just come and the next you look up and Whoa where did it go?
It's been three years and I'm sitting here going Whoa. I've really enjoyed the ride, so I don't plan on going anywhere. I'm hoping to learn a few new tricks along the way and hope you'll join me.
So it wouldn't be a Blogiversary if I didn't have a contest and some goody to give away.
Contest Rules: You have until Saturday, September 12, 2009 at midnight to leave me a comment containing 1 new technique you'd like to learn and 1 trick you've learned along the way. Please reply to this post and I'll get the random generator to pull the lucky winner.

The goody is Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in the Green Mountain Madness colorway. You know you love a color when you find out you have two in your stash;)

A Winner
I first what to express many thanks to everyone who participated in the contest. Love the blog listings and my Bloglines has grown because of it.
I was also so amazed to see that in the middle of everyone sending me cool blogs I had been given an award by A:). [blush] awwww, thanks.

The rules seem to be as follows:
1. Post the award on your blog.
2. Ad a link to the person who gave you the award
3. Nominate at least 4 others
4. Leave a comment on their blog so they can pass it on
Now... coming up with blogs that haven't already received this award is tricky but I'll give it a go.
Tales from the Den of Chaos is a funny, witty and makes me feel like I'm not the only one in this crazy world.
So, the thing is...blog is a new great find and felt instantly connected to her new relocation to a new state.
Adventures of Old Bean is a spinner and knitter and how can you not love gratuitous baby photos.
RoseLea Spins a Yarn is spinning and knitting all the way from New Zealand.
Now for what you've all been waiting for. Hubby picked the Winner of the contest out of the hat.

And without further ado....the winner is ikkinlala!
Congratulations and thanks again to everyone for playing along.

Progress on Ogee

The front of the Ogee Tunic is off the needles.
I've done some major modifications. When reading the pattern it tells you to start the neck shaping when the slit finally measures 9.25 inches. What? So, I go looking through Ravelry and I see all the projects have very low dipping slits. I really didn't want this... it would mean I would have to wear something under it. Needless to say my slit is not that deep.
Now I have concerns about the sleeves matching up with the armholes. I will have to make some adjustments I'm sure. I have been taking notes, so if I cross my fingers everything will work out fine.
Yay Me!
It's My Blogiversary today and if you post a comment containing 3 unique blogs you'll be in for a chance to win sock yarn! Deadline is midnight tonight!! I'm hoping to draw winners over the weekend. Thank you all for everyone's list of blog entries... have been discovering new ones and loving it!

1st Anniversary & Contest
Come September 12, 2007 it will be My First Blog Anniversary. You have all been there for me through so many knits and purls. The year was filled with lots of finished objects, new fibers, spinning and what a great bunch of knitters I've come to cherish.... from my Stitch 'n Bitch to the virtual friends out there in the Blogosphere.
To celebrate this special day I've decided to have a contest!

What do you think? The yarn is Mirasol Hacho Yarn in color shade 303 and approximately 137 yards of 100% Hand Dyed Merino Wool. These two skeins would make great socks. The colors are really deep and rich, perfect for fall.
All I ask of you is to leave a comment between now and Wednesday September 12 at midnight about your favorite fiber thing. It can be a pattern, book, yarn, fiber adventure or if you have a favorite finished object ...let me hear the story of why you love it. A commenter will be chosen by random and I'll announce the winner on September 13. Don't forget to leave me your email address.
Thank you all for being apart of my spontaneous knitting world;) I look forward to another fiber filled year. Cheers and Knit-On!
