Day 212-365: Strawberry Love

The strawberry is in her other hand, but the evidence is clearly on her face. She's loving these strawberries!

Day 211-365: Curious Cat

The Kitty sometimes gets out the back door when I'm grillin' or in the garden NOT pulling weeds;) He doesn't go far and comes when called, but there is sense of wildness and curiosity in him.

Day 210-365: Shark

Little park in the city, for a moments peace. Love the shark like sculpture among the flowerbeds.

Day 209-365: Same O'thang

My son. sigh. This is usually how I see him now days. Briefly for a bite to eat, with laptop within reach.

Day 208-365: Undo

Had to rip out a design, no biggie. Learning from your mistakes is part of the process.

Day 207-365: Cover

Walking along out about in the city and this tree just covers the entire walk space keep it nice a cool for a afternoon walk.

Yarn: Plymouth Yarn Encore Worsted (200 yd/182 m, 3.53oz/100g ball), White #0208: 2 balls, Yellow #1382: 1 ball and 50-70 yards of Pink #0137

Needles: 6 - US #5 / 3.75mm double pointed needles.
Optional: 16 inch - US #5 / 3.75mm circular needle.

Materials: 4 removable stitch markers, size G / 4mm crochet hook, poly-fill, yarn needle, embroidery floss and embroidery needle.
Optional Items: bean bag pellets, small scrap of muslin or other fabric.

Gauge: 22 sts and 28 rows = 4 inch / 10 cm in stockinette stitch. Every knitter’s gauge is unique, so be sure to check.

Day 206-365: Next

Going through the stash looking for yarn on the next project to put on my needles... that is just for me. The project is for a Mystery Knit-along, so you don't exactly know what you're making.

I love these colors together, but I also love the green which is below.

Day 205-365: 116

What you see is small piles of 10 little squares and a pile of 6 big squares. That comes out to 116 added blocks to my ever increasing blanket. Now for the tedious task of attaching them.

Day 204-365: Near & Far

Love playing with the focus. This is the newly spun yarn that I took off the drop spindle as a placeholder for plying later.

Day 203-365: Every Where You Turn

Just on my way to grab a bit to eat, you run into a sculpture smack dab in the middle of the sidewalk.

It was an off day... this was the only photo that look anyway exciting.

Woobie Bear Pattern

The Woobie Bear has been released into the wild!



This adorable snuggle bear is number 2 in the series of Woobies... be on the lookout for more to come.

One great thing that I'm loving is working with the Cascade Superwash Sport. It knits up beautifully and with the yarn being a superwash, it gives me peace of mind knowing I don't have to worry about spills and messes.

Size: 14 in / 35.5 cm square blanket

Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Sport (136 yd/124 m, 1.75oz/50g ball), Brown #818: 2 balls, Off White #817: 1 ball

Materials: 32 in / 81 cm - US #3 / 3.25mm circular needle, Set of 5 - US #3 / 3.25mm double pointed needles, 8 stitch markers, waste yarn, size B / 2.25mm crochet hook, poly-fill, embroidery floss and yarn needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Gauge: 26 sts and 34 rows = 4 inch [10 cm] in stockinette stitch. Every knitter’s gauge is unique, so be sure to check.

Day 201-365: Little Lovely

I wish I could trap this color. It's one of my favorites.

Day 200-365: Barber

A barber shop just moved in to the area and I love the old/new pole they've got hanging.

Day 199-365: Reflection

Waiting on hubby to pick me up from the train station... do you see me in the window?

Day 198-365: New Location

My knitting room has moved to the dinning room as the results of water damage we had last week. With the carpet getting ripped out and the smell, I just couldn't stand my stuff even coming close to the ick, so upstairs it goes.

Day 197-365: Weeds

Hey, Dad... you thought you had weeds!!!



It's really kinda sad. I've learned a lot of things about myself over the years. I thought I would be a person who enjoys planting and gardening. Nope. I like the results but not the work. I don't like to be outside, unless I have a cold one in one hand and my knitting in the other.

Day 196-365: Cat Not Kitten

Started noticing the other day that the Kitten is no longer looking like a Kitten.

Day 193-365: Pay Here

Paying a small fee to park and ride the train is totally worth it. Its kept me sane all these years.

Day 192-365: First Skein

After a little soak and a thrash the first skein is complete. I still have to measure for length and WPI (wraps per inch), but I'm very happy with it.

Day 191-365: First Bobbin

Plied up the my first bobbin for Tour de Fleece. I love how doing the Navajo ply keeps the colors together.

Day 190-365: Make Up

Go figure that I didn't take any photos on this day... so I'm grabbing and older one for a "make up". My little girl isn't so little anymore.

Day 189-365: Garden Park

There is a little garden park just north of the Art Museum were you can sit, eat your lunch and read a book under these huge trees. You also get a little artwork with your lunch;)

Day 188-365: Rustic

Walking by the Art Museum and they have these lovely flower urns just over flowing with life.

Day 187-365: Danger Monkey

Out and about taking pictures of a Woobie Monkey in the trees. This is dangerous work;)

FO: Summer Vacation Shawlette

This little project was what I worked on while on vacation in Florida. I cast-on just before taking off and by the following weekend I had that puppy finished.

Yarn: 1 skein Ella Rae Lace Merino

Needles: US 7 & US 5 circular needle

Started: June 10, 2011

Finished: June 26, 2011

My gauge was a little off and so my project turned out smaller then it was suppose to. Blocked measurements were said to be 54 inches wide by 25 inches high. Ummmm, yeah. This baby came out to 38.5 inches wide by 17 inches high. Hahahaha!

Wow... well guess who has claimed the shawl for herself. You guess it, Miss Mac.



Loved the pattern, loved the yarn.



The bright side is that I have plenty of left overs for my sock yarn blanket;)

Day 186-365: Mystery Solved

Daughter helped out doing a quick photo shoot of my latest finished knit, the Summer Mystery Shawlette. Pieces of the pattern were given each week and only until it was finished did you know what it looked like.

Day 185-365: Lady Bug

The drop spindle was my main spinning tool today. With cooking and general hostess duties this was portable and could keep up the the activities of the day.




BONUS: I did get some wheel spinning done over the course of the weekend. Really loving the spinning.

Day 184-365: Watermelon Love

Gathered in celebration of my nephews 1st birthday and I think the best part for Miss Mac was the melon;)

Day 183-365: Turning Kitty to Cat

King is growing so quick. He reminds me of my teenage son.... sleeps all day and up all night;)

Day 182-365: Kitty Shots

Took a few shots for the new kitty pattern. I found the strips to be quite hypnotizing.
