Wanted to work on photo adjusting and figured it's been a while since I've done a self portrait.

Day 119-365: Gloom to Bloom

The other day these flowers had not popped and it was like Spring decided to show up overnight because the city is just bursting with color now.

Day 118-365: Love Note

One of the cool things about sending your kid to school with a sack lunch is putting that little note in to remind them of how much you care.

Day 117-365: Looking Up

On my way to the UPS store today, I walked through the lobby of the Palmer House Hotel. This hotel fascinates me. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I love to sit in the lounge chair and people watch. Also, don't forget to look up!

Day 116-365: Mini Swap Delivery

Was super excited to see a package arrive with 20 mini skeins from yarn swap. Can't wait to turn these little mini's into squares!!

Day 115-365: Keep on Knitting

More and more squares for the never ending awesome blanket.

Here is the main reason for much silence on the blog lately. Knitting for a knitter is hard... and keeping it a secret can be a challenge.

What's even funnier is having your knitter friend cast-on for the same blanket. Oh did we have a good laugh over that one.



Pattern: Eternal Knot Baby Blanket by Daniel Yuhas

Yarn: 7 skeins of Encore Worsted

Needles: US 8 circular needle

Started: February 10, 2011

Finished: April 9, 2011

I cast-on for 20 loops and modified it by using a provisional cast-on to keep those stitches live for the set-up row. I then realized that I preferred a more traditional method of cables and changed the garter stitch to stockinette.

Liking the more tight cables I then decided to add another cable twist, but didn't want to change the overall structure too much. This lead to me adding a cable twist on the wrong side and still stay in pattern.



Overall it's a great pattern. I did have to buy a few more skeins just because the tighter cables were eating up the yardage.

Day 108-365: Eternal Knot

One huge reason I haven't blogged about what I'm working on is this blanket. That's what happens when you knit for a Knitter. silence.

Day 107-365: Shower

A great day to oooo and aaaa over baby stuff.

Day 106-365: Cupcake Overload

There is nothing like a good dark chocolate raspberry cupcake to make things all better.

Day 105-365: New Plantings

The city workers have been busy filling the raised beds along Michigan Avenue.

Day 104-365: Blue Woobie Coming

Since I'm about to release a new pattern for the Woobie Baby Bunny, I figured a good idea would be to have a blue version for those little boys out there.

This one out of the series of three is not gated. Kids where having a ball climbing it.

The Chicago Fire Department does not play around. I think there were no less then 6 engines at this corner. Streets blocked off. Police redirecting traffic. Not sure what was going down.

Day 97-365: Hey, Where Do These Stairs Go?

Do you recognize that quote? It's from my favorite movie. These stairs are in my office building and I love the contrast of the black rails with the white steps.

Day 96-365: What Time Is It?

Early. At least early for me. Most days have me staying up till 1am.

It's really hard to blog about stuff that needs to be kept a secret. sigh. Bare with me, I've got tons to share.

Day 95-365: Psycho

This is located in the back ally of my building. The words might be spelling something else, but Psycho is all I see. I don't think I could hang out there past dark... I've watched way too many zombie movies;)

Day 92-365: Open House

Today was the Open House for the Community Center. We took the tour and Miss Mac enjoyed some face painting and the inflatable obstacle course.
